The residents of Little Burgundy have come together to voice their concerns regarding the proposed housing revamp project throughout Little Burgundy.

ABOUT LITTLE BURUGNDY

  • a small neighborhood within the southwest borough of Montreal, Quebec
  • home of African American English-speaking working class
  • this neighbourhood is heavily focused around railway companies

RESIDENTS

  • the residents of Little Burgundy are heavily focused on the sense of community within their neighbourhood
  • predominantly consists of hard working middle class African Americans

SENSE OF COMMUNITY

  • with Little Burgundy being so small, the residents embrace the idea of a tight knit community
  • this neighbourhood has a strong tie to the railways, making everyone in the community have good relations with one another

IMPORTANCE OF RESIDENCY

  • because this whole community is so close with one another, it is vital that their years of hard works on their homes is recognized
  • being able to come home after work to what is your home, filled with memories of family, is very important to the residents of Little Burgundy
  • having a low income housing project at the cost of residents losing their home, may have a negative impact within the community and the workplaces
